The Season of Giving

Dear Wheaton Montessori School Community,

Periodically, AMI-USA sends a team of consultants to audit our fidelity to authentic Montessori education methods.  This is an intensive period of scrutiny through observations and interviews. I feel very proud to inform you that AMI-USA has again certified Wheaton Montessori School.  AMI-USA gave high commendations to our teachers and staff for meeting – and exceeding – AMI-USA’s standard for providing authentic Montessori education.

This acknowledgement comes during an amazing year for our school.  All four of our Primary classes are full.  Our Elementary program is at-capacity for the fourth year in a row.  Our Adolescent Community is thriving; so much so that we’ve hired a full-time Math Specialist to support the growing program.

We take pride in surpassing the expectations of AMI-USA and hold ourselves to an extremely high level of service for your children and families.  To that end, we are asking for your support going forward in helping us maintain the school, staff, and service that you expect.

Over the next several years, we will be renewing classroom materials in our Primary classrooms.   We are dedicated to providing your children access to the best materials and learning tools.  We will be adding Montessori materials in our Adolescent Community and renovating the Adolescent classroom spaces.  Additionally, we will be renovating our Elementary classrooms to provide ample storage, additional lab workspaces, and authentic materials in both Upper and Lower Elementary classrooms. And most importantly, your support will help our school continue provide competitive salaries to retain the teachers that have earned your respect and trust over the years.

For that reason, I ask you to continue your support of the school through this year’s Annual Giving campaign.

Each year, we ask our community members to give a gift to our operating budget. While tuition covers most of our expenses, there is always a gap we need to fill with charitable gifts. We call gifts to this gap our “Annual Fund.” (This is different from gifts that our parent-run annual auction raises for specific projects.)  As you know, we are a non-profit organization and all gifts are tax-deductible.  Please remember that gifts given by December 31, 2018 will receive a 2018 tax receipt.

We realize that for many families, private school tuition costs themselves represent a significant expense.  We are asking for your help in whatever amount is meaningful for your family.  We have welcomed gifts in every dollar amount from $5 – $5,000 and above.  Please know that any gift to the Annual Fund from your family will will help our students now and well into the future.  Our continued excellence stems from you and your support.

Thank you.
