School Supply Drive for Mrs. Taylor‘s School in Ghana:

We had a visit from Mrs. Bertha Taylor this week while she was back in town.  Mrs. Taylor gave us a great update on the school that her family is establishing in Ghana. They’re painting classrooms and getting ready to bring in shelves and materials for the start of the school year.  Mrs. Taylor shared videos of the progress with us when she was here last week with her mother and daughter Kaity, a Wheaton Montessori School alum.

We will be collecting school supplies for Mrs. Taylor to ship to Ghana between now and August 30th. If you’re out shopping for school supplies and can donate an extra of any of these items, they will be put to use by students in Mrs. Taylor’s new school!

  • Pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners
  • Sketchbooks
  • Glue sticks and scissors
  • Colored pencils and water colors (no crayons, as they may melt during shipping)
  • Pencil bags
  • New or gently used backpacks

As always, we take any donations of new or used books for our “sister library” within the school.

Mrs. Taylor was a long-time teacher at Wheaton Montessori School.  Her two daughters also attended Wheaton Montessori School.  She frequently returns to support the school and visit with teachers and students.
