Little Hats, Big Hearts
Students in the Elementary class joined volunteers across the country, knitting more than two dozen red baby hats to support the “Little Hats, Big Hearts” program.
“Little Hats, Big Hearts” is a joint initiative by the American Heart Association and the Children’s Heart Foundation designed to bring handknit red caps to babies born in area hospitals in the month of February. The purpose of the red hats is to raise awareness of congenital heart defects in children and to help families connect with resources to promote family heart health.
Knitting and crocheting are favorite pasttimes of many of the students at Wheaton Montessori school. “Knitting is even more fun when you know someone is going to use it!” said one student.
