Laura Stagnaro-Cohen is a Lower Elementary Teacher Assistant at Wheaton Montessori School.
Laura has been the Lower Elementary Teacher Assistant in Suzanna Mayhugh’s classroom since 2024. She has taught middle school and high school math, and graduate-level mathematics courses and worked as an instructional coach for 10 years. She is passionate about inspiring students through creating meaningful relationships and helping them think critically about the work they do and the world around them.
Laura has an undergraduate degree in peace and conflict studies from Colgate University and a graduate degree in education with an emphasis in math and science from the University of Maryland in College Park. Her professional honors include a professional educator license in Illinois in elementary education, middle school (mathematics, general science, and social science), and high school (mathematics, chemistry, and social science).
When not in the classroom, you can find Laura enjoying biking, traveling, doing yoga, baking, or spending quality time with her husband and two children. Her favorite food is chocolate, and she would eat it every day if she could!
