Exploring the Wetlands – Thank you for helping us!

Categories: For Parents / General Knowledge Fund / Going Out / Wetlands Reclamation Project

Last Saturday our parent community came out in droves to help kick off our Wetlands Restoration project.   These parents and their children worked for hours clearing brush, glass, litter, and large items that had been dumped on the property for the last few decades.

Over the course of the workday, these students and parents filled an entire dumpster, cleared out several huge areas of invasive buckthorn trees, and made a huge impact.

The impact became clear for our students today, when our Primary classes were able to go on a teacher-led “hike” through the area.  Because we know that the area is safe due to the efforts on Saturday, our students can start enjoying this large natural area behind the school.
