Christine McClelland is a Primary Teacher at Wheaton Montessori School.
Before becoming a primary teacher, Christine taught both summer school and elementary Spanish at Wheaton Montessori School where she began working in 2012. She has previously worked full-time as a Spanish instructor for preschool through middle school students as well as high school and College of DuPage. Her two children’s attendance at Wheaton Montessori School was the inspiration for her to train to become an AMI-certified instructor.
Christine has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Latin American Studies from the College of the Holy Cross, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Aurora University, and holds state teaching certificates in both MA and IL. She is AMI-certified for the Primary level through the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis.
A treasured memory from her school days is singing in her school choir, and her favorite chapter book is Charlotte’s Web. She holds a special appreciation for Mrs. Judy Mawn, her first-grade teacher.
Christine enjoys walking, running, and yoga. You may see her walking with her two Beagles all around Wheaton. When not in the classroom, Christine enjoys gardening and spending quality time with her family.
