BERTHA TAYLOR

Bertha Taylor is the Upper Elementary Teacher Assistant at Wheaton Montessori School.

Bertha's professional journey started in business and administration before shifting to early childhood education. Bertha became a part of the Wheaton Montessori School community as a parent in 2004 and transitioned to a teaching role in 2007. She guided one of the primary classes until 2015. After that, she returned to England and Ghana to pursue philanthropic efforts, establishing a full-fledged library at St. Anne Anglican Church School in Abeka, Ghana.

In 2021, she returned to Wheaton Montessori School as a lower elementary assistant and joined Emily Searcy’s Upper Elementary classroom in 2022. In the classroom, she enjoys watching children discover and leverage their unique strengths and passions in a supportive, inspiring environment that empowers them to grow into confident, globally minded individuals.

Bertha holds a bachelor's degree in Business Studies and Finance with first-class honours from the University of Glamorgan in Wales and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the United Kingdom. In 2002, she acquired an A.M.I. Montessori diploma in Primary Education from the Washington Montessori Institute and a Master of Education from Loyola College in Baltimore in 2004. She completed the AMI Elementary Orientation in 2022.

In her free time, she dedicates herself to supporting the St. Anne Anglican School library, and two other schools in underprivileged communities in Northern Ghana. This initiative is generously backed by Wheaton Montessori School, where both of her daughters are proud alums.
