While doing a project that combined plankton and evolution, a Jr. High student asked for his classmates’ attention.
“Everybody take two breaths.”

Then: “Now we’ll take a moment of gratitude to the plankton, for one of those breaths.”
The young student was quoting Ms. Searcy, who had used the line in a previous lesson while discussing oxygen, plants, and human life.
