About Wheaton Montessori
Montessori life takes place in much the same way it takes place in any community – students work, play, eat, rest and interact with each other. And like any other community, daily life at Wheaton Montessori School includes more than work.
As students develop, our Montessori teachers match appropriate lessons and materials to these sensitive periods when learning is naturally absorbed. In early childhood, students learn through sensory-motor activities. This includes working with materials that develop their cognitive abilities through direct experience of seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching and movement.
The elementary years allow children to continue to organize their thinking using Montessori learning materials and an interdisciplinary curriculum—passing from concrete to the abstract and applying knowledge to real-world experiences.
This organization of information prepares students for the world of adolescence, when thought and emotion evolve into understanding more abstract, universal concepts.
Wheaton Montessori School will host interested families and students for an Open House. Tour our new facilities, meet our teachers and staff, and DISCOVER what makes Wheaton Montessori School the best education option for your family.
We offer both part-time and full-time preschool programs, Kindergarten, Elementary, and Jr. High.
Parents of prospective 1st and 2nd graders are invited for an admissions information session and school tour with Director Rebecca Lingo. The tour of the Wheaton Montessori School campus will begin at 10am; an observation of the Elementary classroom will be featured as part of the tour.
After observing, parents will have an opportunity to discuss enrollment options for incoming elementary students.
** This event is limited to the first five interested families. Please RSVP to reserve your space. **
