Wheaton Montessori News
With our school year in full-swing, our early morning readers have been able to enjoy a solid two weeks of reading with Mrs. Lingo. Children who are part of our early-morning care are treated to extra stories, reading, and time with Mrs. Lingo until the primary classrooms open for the business of the day.
This week, our students are enjoying some classics (“The Three Little Kittens” remains a mainstay!), as well as some Mo Willems readers and picture books.
You may know Mo Willems from his “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” series. He also has a great series of early reader books, “Elephant and Piggie.” We checked at the Wheaton Public Library and are happy to report that they have a large number from the series ready for your enjoyment! Additionally, our school’s book fair is coming up on the 15th and 16th; Mo Willems books are always a good choice.
Do you have a little one that comes early? Check out one of these books to read together at home for a way to connect with your child’s school life. Is your “little one” not so little? Elementary parents can also read the same titles as their children; it’s a great way to connect and create conversation.
