Upper Elementary Students enjoy Chicago Botanic Garden Trip

Several of our elementary students are passionate about botany. We are consistently asked for gardening projects, plant research projects, and trips to local gardens and forest preserves. Recently, three of our sixth graders went to the Chicago Botanic Garden for a “Going-Out,” in furtherance of their botany interests and research. They were especially interested in seeing the titum arum, or “Corpse Flowers.

“Java,” one of the Corpse Flowers at the Chicago Botanic Garden, a focal point of a recent Going Out.

Lucky for us, their volunteer chaperone, a father of two other elementary students, took some great pictures for us as the students explored the gardens.
